We consider it a privilege to have stayed in this beautiful and historic farmhouse. Alyson and David are the most perfect and generous hosts and we felt immediately at home as we were welcomed into their wonderful home. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable with some beautiful finishing touches including hand made soap, lavender bags and locally brewed cider! Use of the terrace and or lounge is also available had we needed this. David is an exceptional chef and both breakfast and dinner (an optional extra and which we highly recommend) quite simply, fabulous. All meals were also beautifully presented with so much variety on offer for breakfast. The farmhouse is perfectly located for visiting all historical sites in Normandy and David kindly helped compile the perfect itinerary for our action packed two day stay. We would highly recommend a stay at The Old Farm of Amfreville. This is truly a hidden gem and we will definitely return to indulge in the warmth and hospitality that Alyson and Dave have so masterfully created. Thank you both very much for such an enjoyable stay.

We have just returned from our holiday in Europe, which included 3 nights at this gorgeous place and I have to say our stay at The Old Farm was the highlight of our holiday. The attention to detail in every aspect, the warmth yet professional approach by Dave and Alyson, the delicious food for breakfast and gourmet evening meals. This place is truly a gem and if you are planning a trip to Normandy do not hesitate to book in with Dave and Alyson, you won’t be disappointed!

If you want a memorable stay in a beautiful historical B&B then this is the place for you. Alyson and Dave pride themselves on providing a home from home with some thoughtful personal touches. We were welcomed on arrival with an English Cream Tea, smiled at the scented homemade soap and giggled after drinking the complimentary bottle of local cider left in the room. Breakfast was a feast with fresh waffles, homemade banana bread and the standout Apple and calvados jam. Dave a chef offers a superb a la Carte menu with locally sourced ingredients and we treated ourselves to one of his -not to be missed- amazing French style picnics. With Alyson’s sunny disposition and their infectious enthusiasm this is not only Sainte-Mère-Église’s but Normandy’s hidden gem.

The enormous hospitality and great eye for detail of Allison and Dave have exceeded all our expectations. The building has been lovingly restored and tastefully decorated. The room (we stayed in the Red Toile room) was very spacious and fully equipped. The beautiful, large bathroom had 2 sinks, a beautiful bathtub and nice details, such as the homemade hand soap from Alisson. Almost every evening we made use of the possibility to join the dinner (table d'hotes). Dave is an extremely gifted, professional chef and he will let you enjoy culinary delights. The dishes are based on fresh local products and are prepared with enormous passion. Book dinner a day in advance (especially for the day of arrival)! The breakfast is very complete and here you will also find fresh local products and Dave's cooking skills. One day we ordered a picnic basket, which is really recommended: what a treat! I do not want to spoil the surprise by mentioning the contents, just see for yourself and enjoy. The location of The Old Farm is perfect, not only is the immediate surroundings historically very worthwhile to discover, other historical places and other sights are also within a short distance. Plenty information is available for guests to make their itinerary. But the hosts are happy to assist as well. You can park your car on private property. Covered parking is available on request for motorcycles as far as I know. This B&B is a real gem and we look forward to going back soon.

This is a perfect area to enjoy this part of Normandy and even more perfect if you want the ideal location for WW2 sights around Sainte-Mere-Eglise. We absolutely lucked out by choosing this property and will definitely stay here in the future. The host family was wonderful. The property was very enjoyable. My wife loved the everything about it - breakfast, surroundings, hosts. We have only the highest praise for The Old Farm at Amfreville.

The farmhouse is a beautiful property with every amenity we could have asked for. The rooms were charming, comfortable, and clean. The owner is a professional chef, so the breakfast (included) and dinner (for an extra fee...and highly recommended!) were incredible. Perfect location to see all of Normandy and DDay historical sites.
